Fast-food Ordering from Facebook

An Ad Age article reports that Pizza Hut will be among the first fast-food chains to allow consumers to order directly from their Facebook page or their iPhone.

This is not too much of a stretch as online ordering has been around for a while now, but being able to do so without having to go to a separate website (at least if your are on Facebook at the time) is convenient.

Maybe if Chipotle (my favorite fast-food establishment) gets on board with this (especially an iPhone app) I will probably get more excited.

Common Collabo With Microsoft + Zune

Rapper and Chicago native Common has teamed up the Microsoft and its Zune Team in advance of his upcoming album. The collabo will encompass a tour (also featuring N.E.R.D.), video-podcast series, and a line of t-shirts. See if you can spot the Zune cameo in Common's latest video - "Universal Mind Control."

Are You a PC or Mac? Or Some Combination?

Not sure anyone should be surprised by this. Even if you own or work on a PC, there is a good chance you have an iPod (or iPhone as noted in the Ad Age article).

In the case of the Microsoft commercials, does the fact that some of the people utilized also have or have used an Apple product diminish the brand message of Microsoft?

Regardless, I think it is safe to say you won't see any "I'm a Zune" commercials.

The New Microsoft Ads | Better, But Not Quite...

Today, Microsoft debuted the latest PC commercials sans Jerry (Seinfeld). Never could really define the purpose of the Seinfeld PC commercials (not funny, no real brand message, connection or enhancement, etc.). But whatever. Anyway, the new commercials seem to have a more defined purpose by introducing or identifying who is PC, taking aim at the caricature presented in the Apple commercials.

The commercials are by no means show stoppers, but better in the sense of brand messaging. See for yourself and let us know what you think.

Gel 2008 | See What We Missed

Gel ("Good Experience Live") is a conference and community exploring good experience in all its forms -- in business, art, society, technology, and life. Gel was founded by Mark Hurst, who ran the first Gel in 2003. It is held in New York City and is a conference we look forward to every year. Unfortunately, we were unable to make it this year and it looks like there were some interesting Day 1 experiences.

We have already marked our calendars for next year, April 30 - May 1, 2009.
