Wow, another 40 something in our midst! Yes, the Internet turned 40 on October 29, 1969 reports Jared Newman of PCWorld. "The Internet was born with the first data message sent between two networked computers" between UCLA's computer science professor Leonard Kleinrock and Stanford Research Institute.
Newman writes a great recap of the key milestones over the past forty years and admittedly notes as we all know, the Internet, even today is still a work in progress.
Check out Kleinrock's page on The History of the Internet. Pretty interesting considering this has all happened within my lifetime.
Happy Birthday!
