Not sure anyone should be surprised by this. Even if you own or work on a PC, there is a good chance you have an iPod (or iPhone as noted in the Ad Age article).
In the case of the Microsoft commercials, does the fact that some of the people utilized also have or have used an Apple product diminish the brand message of Microsoft?
Regardless, I think it is safe to say you won't see any "I'm a Zune" commercials.
